After a decade in the business, the bulk of which was spent at SmartMoney.com, I became a financial editor and freelancer. Now, I’m focusing on fiction, while blogging every now and again.
Stories have always been important to me. As a kid, growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, one of my favorite places was the library. Taking out books, devouring stacks of stories, there was nothing better. I’ve written creatively all my life, but never thought I’d ever be able to make a living out of it. So as a young adult, I moved to New York City and got my master’s in journalism from New York University to tell true stories. And for many years I did. After an exciting 10 years being a journalist, I was a financial editor and freelancer, untangling economic and investing concepts so everyone could understand them. But the pull to make up my own stories remained strong, and so now I’m taking the plunge and focusing my efforts these days on fiction writing.
This site is where I post random musings. Ideas that aren’t ending up in a manuscript, thoughts that pop into my head and nag me until I get them out, this is where they land…along with countless pictures of my pup…and food I make…oh, and scenic shots (usually of New York City, where I live). Basically, anything that itches, it gets scratched here.
Hearing from folks is always great, especially writers and readers, so drop me a line.
Thanks for stopping by!
